Dance Royale is kind of hard to explain. It was a dance contest. It was a dance party. It was a benefit/fundraiser. It was a wild night.
Here’s how it went down: A group of wedding vendors pledged to give away their services for free to the winners of a dance contest. We called that crew of companies “The Dream Team” and not because we’re like…hyper egotistical about our companies. But rather because it is a dream for us to all get to work together. (And because winning that package of services from us is a pretty hype prize!) There were simultaneous contests going - one for couples and one for singles. The prize for singles was valued at $50,000 and the one for singles was valued at $20,000 so the competition got pretty intense.
On top of it being a crazy dance contest, we were trying to raise money for CHIRLA - the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights Los Angeles. So many different companies contributed to the event - either by providing food and drinks out front or through the silent auction in the back. Over 65 different companies threw in their services, products, talents, and wares and Dance Royale ended up raising $4777 for CHIRLA! That’s what we’re most proud of. That was the important thing. But let’s not forget that we threw an INSANE party where people were losing their minds on the dance floor trying to get that trophy!
